Land of Smiles Frowns on Singapore

Thaksin Shinawatra, seen putzing around in various places such as China and London since his ouster in September, is now in Singapore. He was caught dining at Ng Ah Sio Pork Ribs Soup Eating House1, incidentally where Donald Tsang can't get a seat.

He had a meeting with S Jayakumar, DPM of Singapore. . . for why? Not sure. On January 14, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the two are old friends.

The current Thai junta is ill at Thaksin's jaunts and has (just now!) revoked his diplomatic passport. They also called in the Singapore ambassador to officially complain to him.

Thaksin himself said he's done with politics.
